Jahworks.org Seeks Web Builder!

Jahworks.org is the premiere online magazine focused on Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, and Caribbean life. We offer our audience a fresh and open-minded view of the people, music, and culture of the West Indies and its impact on the world.

We are in the midst of automating the site and are currently interviewing for a web-savvy intern who possesses a passion for Jamaican, Trini, Bahamanian, and all forms of island music and culture. Your technical expertise and passion will help make the look and feel of Jahworks.org pop and sparkle. We’d like to bring the right person on board as soon as possible but are willing to wait until early summer if needed.

Gain real-world work experience in a casual team environment! Plus free tickets, CDs, and other miscellaneous free stuff. After project completion, we will be happy to offer referrals for school applications.

Project Requirements:
Build article and submission system with MySQL and PHP
Work with managing editor and webmaster to build site structure
Set up mailing lists
Set up message boards
Create web banner/ad management system
Migrate content

Skills:
Strong HTML and photoshop skills
Experience setting up a CMS system

Desirable:
Familiarity with video streaming
MP3 streaming
e-commerce systems
