The “Jump Off” rhythm is being touted as the rhythm to watch for Christmas. After months of saturation on the airwaves, the dancehall beat has waged an attack at sessions, parties and stage shows with its inescapable groove.”I would put this project on par with the Party Time rhythm, although it is more catchy and vivacious,” explained producer Preston Onfroy of his highly successful rhythm, “The moment you hear it, you want to dance.”

Passion Rhythm Project

Reggae airwaves are currently under attack from a sweet and tantalizing rhythm called the Passion rhythm. Radio jocks from Jamaica, the US and all over the Caribbean have already subscribed to this engaging beat, which is being touted as the next big thing in reggae music. NAP Musiq Productions, a Jamaica and US-based reggae outfit is responsible for the Passion project. Remember the hit “We’re In Heaven” by Da’Ville? Or how about the Wash Pan rhythm? Those project were released out of the Nap Musiq stables.

Beenie Man at VP Memorial Day ShowThe VP Records 2nd annual Memorial Day concert, held on Sunday, May 29 at the Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami, Florida pulled out a massive crowd. Concert-goers were treated to high powered performances from the likes of Beenie Man and Freddie McGregor. Other artistes on the massive lineup earned thunderous applause from the crowd during their respective time slots and represented themselves well. Among those were Luciano, Capleton, Sizzla, Buju Banton, Assassin and Elephant Man.

19-Year-Old Wins Miss Jamaica Universe 2002 Title

sanya hughes: miss jamaica 2002It was sheer jubilation inside the Ballroom of the Hilton Kingston Hotel on Sunday, March 24 as 19-year-old Sanya Hughes triumphed over 12 other contestants, to take the coveted title of Miss Jamaica Universe 2002.

Her fan club rose to its feet and made plenty of noise to indicate their pleasure and satisfaction for that matter, on her victory.

Entertainers Snub Entertainment Consultation Programme

Despite being advertised for more than a week, very few entertainers were in attendance at the Entertainment Consultation Programme, which was hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and Sport at the Jamaica Conference Centre on Saturday October 20.

The conference-like seminar attracted quite a number of professionals and amateurs drawn from the theatre and performing arts, music and film industries.

New Album for Wayne Wonder
